Overall: 14.25 ft h x 58.5 ft w
Installation in the lobby of the George H. Fallon Federal Building, Baltimore, MD
Commissioned for the United States Government by the General Services Administration Art in Architecture Program
A site-specific installation, Dress Code is made up of the deconstructed military uniforms of veterans and recently naturalized citizens’ clothing arranged into a mosaic-like, fabric mural. The project reflects the diverse community of people—be they recent immigrants, government workers or veterans—who pass through the federal building on a daily basis and, in the process, reveal the many faces of American identity.
